I always thought that fish could only be prepared breaded and fried. I mean, that is what you do when you catch a few walleyes at the cabin, right?
This fish dish pulls in a variety of flavors and delivers some heat. We enjoyed this on our deck on a beautiful summer evening.
Talapia with Ginger-Orange Sauce
1/4 cup orange juice
2 tsp. minced fresh cilantro
1 tsp. minced fresh ginger root
1 clove garlic, minced
1 medium carrot, thinly sliced
1/2 red pepper, thinly sliced
1 Tbs. soy sauce
1 tsp. sesame oil
1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes
Heat 1 Tbs. olive oil in skillet over medium heat. Stir fry garlic, carrot, and red pepper until slightly soft. Whisk orange juice, cilantro, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
Cook talapia til golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes. Pour orange juice mixture into the skillet and simmer until the fish flakes and sauce thickens.
Serve with rice and drizzle with sauce.
